This patient had excess skin and fat of the upper eyelids and puffiness of the lower lids. Dr. Weintraub performed a blepharoplasty (eyelid lift), removing excess upper-eyelid skin and fat. To correct the puffiness of the lower lids, he employed a transconjunctival approach, meaning he removed the fat of the lower lids through an incision made inside the lower lid so that no marks showed. It is very important to know exactly how much fat to remove, otherwise the patient can be left looking “hollow” or unnatural. Plastic-surgical experience and maturity were paramount in this case.
